Steamboat Springs is one of Colorado's premier destinations for world-class skiing and year-round entertainment for the whole family. During the winter, Steamboat provides skiing and snowboard terrain for all levels.

While in Steamboat, chances are that you will get to see one of our many Olympians practicing or competing in Nordic events at Howleson Hill or Freestyle Events on Mt. Werner. Known as "Ski Town USA" Steamboat is home to more Olympians (56 and counting) than any other town in the United States.

You can also enjoy snowshoeing or cross country skiing on Rabbit Ears Pass. Take a snowmobile tour or dogsled ride through the backcountry. View Steamboat from the sky in a hot air balloon. Or relax your muscles in the natural hot springs of Strawberry Park. In the evening take a sleigh ride to dinner on the mountain or to a quaint country inn.

Restaurants:

Sevens Restaurant, located at the base of the ski area next to the Silver Bullet Gondola, offers a warm western atmosphere with great views of the slopes. From American continental cuisine to Sheraton Cuisine Essentials, there is something to tantalize all tastes and all ages for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Enjoy your favorite drink in front of the fireplace in 3 Saddles Bar and Grill. Serving appetizers and late night sandwiches, we also boast one of the best decks in Steamboat.

Bear River Bar and Grill knows how to keep our visitors entertained year-round. During the winter, we'll dazzle our skiers with everything from karaoke to comedy. When the sun is shining and the temperatures are rising, we offer a daily BBQ on our deck. There are also many wonderful restaurants in the Steamboat Ski area and downtown.

How to get there

Non-Stop Jet Air Service to Steamboat Springs in the Winter.
Steamboat is proud to be the most conveniently accessed ski resort in the Rocky Mountains with daily non-stop jet flights from eight major North American cities, and convenient connections nation wide.

The Yampa Valley Regional Airport (HDN) is located near Hayden, Colorado, just 22 miles (35 kms) from the Steamboat Ski Area.

Rental cars as well as Steamboat based ground transportation services will bring you to your specific destination in our lush valley. It is a scenic, 160 mile drive from DIA to Steamboat Springs and the Yampa Valley. Rental cars and shuttles are also available at the Yampa Regional Airport.

Steamboat Springs Transit (SST)
Getting around Steamboat is easy! For those without their own transportation, the city of Steamboat Springs offers a comprehensive system of free transportation between the ski area, downtown and most hotel, condominium, restaurant, grocery and entertainment locations. The ski area is located 3 miles southeast of downtown Steamboat Springs. The SST runs continuously from 7:00am til 1:45am daily, stopping at each location every 20 minutes. You'll notice our warm hospitality the moment you enter our lobby - from a friendly greeting to our western décor, leather furnishings, and beautiful sculptures. Our concierge staff will be happy to assist you in making dinner reservations or one of the many other great activities Steamboat has to offer.

From December to April, Steamboat is a winter wonderland. Our backyard is the world-class Steamboat Ski Resort, and we are literally just steps from the chairlift and the Silver Bullet Gondola. Enjoy alpine skiing, snowboarding and telemark skiing in our world famous "champagne powder." It's no wonder why Ski Magazine readers rated us one of the top five ski resorts in North America. After a day of skiing, enjoy a workout in our fitness center and steam room or just relax in our outdoor heated pool or one of seven rooftop hot tubs. The Sol Day Spa offers a variety of treatments including massages, manicures, pedicures, facials, Vishy Salt Glow and LaStone Reflexology.
