Howie and Mike have been working together at Colorado State University for 17 years.  That has given them multiple opportunities to work together on the medical and surgical aspects of veterinary medicine.  Mike and Howie have developed a 4 part series to be presented at International Veterinary Seminars in the future.  Each of these courses is unique and so you will ultimately want to attend all four.  In this course, the boys will be presenting information concerning medical and surgical management of feline gastrointestinal, liver, and pancreatic diseases.  Dr. Seim will also show several cases that required extensive wound management.  Both of our speakers present practical information that can be immediately implemented in your practice on the completion of the course.  The majority of the lectures will be presented using the case-based format.  There is extensive use of video in the surgical presentations and so these IVS courses are like being in the operating room with Dr. Seim.  Dr. Lappin likes to show videos of practical internal medicine techniques and also emphasizes rational use of empirical therapy for those clients with small budgets.  Both of our speakers are actively involved in veterinary research of clinical diseases and so each year bring brand-new information to our courses.  Frequently, this material has been even been published yet, giving the attendees the most up to date continuing education possible.  Dr. Seim is a section editor for the Textbook of Small Animal Surgery and Dr. Lappin is a section editor for Textbook of Small Internal Medicine.  Dr. Lappin is also the editor of Feline Internal Medicine Secrets.  Thus, both have been actively involved in the advancement of new knowledge in small animal veterinary medicine.
