Cozumel is noted for its diving and snorkeling, crystalline white beaches, turquoise
waters and magnificent coral reefs. This will be our sixth visit to this wonderful island
where you can relax, dive, snorkel, explore Mayan ruins and truly get away from
it all.
The Presidente Inter-Continental Resort has again been selected as the
seminar venue. The Presidente Inter-Continental resort, recognized as Cozumels
premier resort, is a five star, AAA-4 Diamond Resort ideally located on a quiet beach only
10 minutes from the town center. The service is exceptional, the rooms are deluxe and
water is warm (80 F).
Why we are returning to the
Presidente:Presidente
Intercontinental Cozumel Resort & Spa celebrated
its grand re-opening on October 1, 2006, after
having undergone a $25 million renovation.
Surrounded by the pristine turquoise
waters of the Caribbean Sea, private white sandy
beach, colorful and abundant coral reefs, lush
vegetation and dreamy ambience, Presidente
InterContinental Cozumel Resort & Spa is the
only five-star, AAA four-diamond award winner on
the Island.
The resort offers superb gourmet cuisine
at Alfredo di Roma, elegant accommodations,
unique Spa treatments in the tranquil
environment of Serenity Spa, the best snorkeling
and diving with Scuba Du, a dedicated staff, all
combined together to give this luxurious resort
a unique point of difference where tradition and
tranquility meet for a memorable vacation
experience.
Sports and recreation:
The Presidente lies on the Caribbean sea and features a spectacular white sandy
beach that slopes gently into the warm blue Caribbean waters. You can snorkel directly
from the beach or take a boat to the reefs. Scuba-Du is a dive group located
at the resort and offers both divers and non-divers a variety of trips to the best reefs.
Complete dive training and certification is also available. Tennis and beach volleyball
are also available.
Things to do:
There are a variety of tours available to the mainland, including tours to the ruins,
Cancun and Playa del Carmen. You can also rent a jeep and explore around the Island of
Cozumel.

wonderful beaches for snorkelling or diving.
San Gervasio Mayan Ruins
San Gervasio is a Mayan sanctuary of the Goddess Ixchel. It splendor began
around AD 200 and its vitality endured until the arrival of the Spaniards. San
Gervasio was a strategic point for the commercial and political development of
its era.
The West Coast
On the west side facing the Caribbean Sea you will see quiet beaches alternating
with rocky shores along the vast expanses of solitary coast. At this side of the
island people are able to watch and delight themselves watching the Sunset and
enjoy water sports.
The Island's Museum
A place where you will uncover the mystical history and beauty of the natural
development of the island that emerged from the Caribbean sea and the story of
the ancient Mayan civilization that was the first to dwell on the island. There
is information on the island's flora and fauna. Inside the museum you will find
four exhibition halls, along with diagrams, sculptures, displays of the main
coral reefs and marine life. Along with all of these is the Mayan house, a place
where you may appreciate 'The old Mayan' life style, which you may find in some
parts of the state.

This course is a continuation of the
seminars previously presented in Roatan and Curacao- the 3 speakers will
continue to discuss topics that are of interest to you as a general
practitioner.
Dr. Craig Griffin
is the founding partner of referral dermatology practices in Garden Grove (Los
Angeles) and San Diego. Being in the largest private referral practices means
that Craig has probably seen and treated it all. This also means that
he
will be presenting practical methods of treatment! Dr. Griffin is one of the
leading Veterinary Dermatologists and has written chapters and articles in
most of the texts and journals. He is a co-author of Small Animal Dermatology
and is a frequent speaker at all the major conferences in the U.S. and around
the world.
Dr. Michael Lappin is Professor
Of Medicine & Dr. Catriona
MacPhail is an Assistant Professor of Surgery
at Colorado State University.
They are both actively involved with the management of patients admitted to
the university clinics and with the ongoing management of patients
requiring intensive therapy. This means that they will be presenting
practical methods of treatment! Both Michael and Catriona are frequent
speakers and
they are recognized as professional & practical speakers.
I have asked the speakers to discuss how they actually do certain tests
and procedures. All to often this is not the main focus of many lectures and
is not adequately presented in a detailed fashion. Cases will also be
presented to allow for a more complete discussion of the topics.
